INTEREST
For Czarina Walker, programming just came naturally. She wrote her first lines
of code before she ever wrote an elementary school book report. Her very first
computer was a "cutting edge" Texas Instruments 99/4. As a child, Czarina loved
entertaining family and friends by writing custom programs using the TI99/4's
speech synthesizer and interactive graphics. Her youthful pastime of developing
logic and code would serve as the foundation for her interest in math, science,
and technology later in life.
Although running her custom computer creations was fun and exciting, the
technology simply didn't hold her interest as she grew older. Technological
limitations kept her from seeing the true advantages and future applications of
computers.
OPPORTUNITY
By 1994, the Internet was becoming a notable resource on forward-thinking
college campuses in the United States. Computers were emerging with new and
amazing functions. Technology's progress had set the stage for Czarina's future
career.
In her first year of college, as a pre-med student, Czarina found herself in an
unlikely job surrounded by custom software designers. This environment
rekindled her interest in technology and helped her learn the strength of her
programming abilities. What truly amazed Czarina about professional software
developers was that they were constantly able to create solutions for
any problem. She fell in love with the way software prototypes were
demonstrated to the users and then tailored to meet their specifications. Over
time, Czarina was trusted with a few small custom software projects at her job,
and soon was given the chance to use her skills on larger company-wide
projects.
Once she began developing custom software, she received many recommendations
from friends and associates. Czarina's reputation for taking ample time to
fully understand the user's needs, and her ability to create stable, long-term
solutions opened the door to new opportunities. She was being offered so many
projects that she decided to turn her lifelong "hobby" into an official career.
In 1996, Czarina opened Custom Database Solutions in her home in Baton Rouge,
La.
Success
After about three years of working alone developing custom software, Czarina
incorporated her business and began hiring employees. Custom Database Solutions
soon became InfiniEdge Software, Inc. As Czarina grew her business, she became
committed to building a highly-talented, dedicated and cohesive team of
developers who would share her same commitment to excellence and enthusiasm for
custom software. She felt that the only thing better than developing great
custom software was developing great custom software with a team. Therefore,
she sought out a collaborative group of well-trained, enthusiastic,
professional developers.
With 13 on staff today, InfiniEdge Software still holds to the missions Czarina
learned early in her career: that all successful custom software projects focus
on creating solutions for the users; and that there is no substitute for a
highly-cohesive development team.
Growth
InfiniEdge Software now employs seven Application Developers and Programmers.
Additionally, a Creative Team has evolved as a strong resource for the
development staff. The Creative Team members have expertise in graphic design
and writing which enhances our custom software with professional interface
design and user-friendly text.
InfiniEdge Software has grown tremendously over the past three years and
continues to evolve to stay on the edge of emerging technologies. Custom
software development customers are cutting edge, which is why their software
development firm should be as well.
